interseal was founded as a one-man business in 1983 by Rolf Schmitz, an experienced expert for seals. Over the years, the company has developed an excellent reputation as a competent engineering partner for difficult sealing applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. The range of applications for conventional mechanical seals has repeatedly been limited by the axial and radial deflection of the stirring or mixing shafts. With the development of the dry9000® by interseal, the weakest link in the production process, the seal, became the factor for success. (More information)

As the company continued to develop, in 1995 interseal was converted into a limited company (GmbH).

The newly developed dry9000® shaft seal was then registered for a patent, and today it is protected in Germany, the EU and the USA.

From 2003, the change from a maker of custom items to a series manufacturer was completed as the dry9000® was standardised to DIN dimensions for agitators and mixers and stock was then built up. Since 2009, via a partnership with Sistro Präzisionsmechanik (www.sistro.com), interseal has built up its own ultra-modern manufacturing facility.

The continuous extension of the service and sales centres, which was also initiated in 2009, is pursuing the objective of offering interseal’s many renowned customers the best possible on-site support for their sealing problems, a maxim to which interseal feels fully committed.
